PROJECT UPDATES

2019-12-06  -   REACHING FOR THE SKY AT ST PETER'S ROPLEY

Our project to rebuild the fire-ravaged St Peter's Church in Ropley, Hampshire, is making good progress.

St Peter's parochial church council (PCC) visit the site every month to check the progress of the rebuild, taking photos along the way, and a selection of images is included here with their kind permission. At the end of November, the PCC team were joined by the Bishop of Basingstoke and the Archdeacon of Winchester to gain first-hand insight of the project.

We're delighted to report that the main glued laminated timber (glulam) beams are in place, and we've recently installed a large amount of additional scaffolding to extend above the height of the tower.

The gable walls have been stabilised, with stonework and internal flintwork repairs all nearing completion.

The St Peter's community is inviting you to become part of the history of the church by sponsoring a new roof tile. These are ready to be signed and inscribed with your choice of message for just £10 each. You can find out more on their Sponsor a Roof Tile campaign page, or take a look at the video below:

Alternatively you can make a one-off contribution or establish a regular donation via their Golden Giving donation page
