2023-06-08  -   RNLI Wells-Next-The-Sea - Official Naming Ceremony

We were delighted to attend the official ceremony to name the new lifeboat and SLARS as well as officially open our recently completed new lifeboat station at Wells-Next-The-Sea in the glorious early June Norfolk sunshine. 

The Shannon class lifeboat is named after the late Duke of Edinburgh and carries the names of loved ones through the Launch a Memory donations scheme - https://rnli.org/support-us/give-money/donate-in-memory/launch-a-memory . 

The ceremony was overseen by RNLI President, HRH The Duke of Kent and Sir Tim Laurence and was attended by well over 200 people who were entertained by a brass band and later with sea shanties from the crew!
