RNLI WELLS-NEXT-THE-SEA
Reside Construction Ltd were contracted to build the new lifeboat station at Wells-Next-The-Sea on the north Norfolk coast, for RNLI Estates. Our partner for the project, JT Mackley & Co Ltd carried out the civil engineering element of the works, leaving us to build everything above ground. The structure consists of a glulam frame and the project features a host of environmentally considerate elements, including ground source heating and a rainwater harvesting system.
The station houses both the all weather Shannon class lifeboat and the smaller inshore lifeboat as well as providing brand new crew facilities and a shopping and engagement space for visitors and passers by. The station is situated adjacent to the main footpath leading to Wells beach, meaning the construction works had to be carefully and considerately carried out. The project was successfully completed and handed over in December 2022 with the new all weather lifeboat being named The Duke of Edinburgh
